But not from sadness. Jimmy Kimmel's LOST-themed "Unnecessary Censorship" had me laughing so hard I was crying.
Less than 12 hours people... :)

Mmmm... Cake
This is really weird, but strangely hypnotic. Is there anything Michael Emerson could say that would NOT come across as creepy. ;)
Explanation here, though that video link doesn't work anymore.

Sunday Funnies
Long post coming sometime later tonight. In the meantime, watch this if you haven't seen it. It's pretty dumb, but the production values are excellent. Gave me a chuckle.

About that DHARMA Booth Video...
In case you missed it in my last review, I mentioned this video from last summer's Comic Con at the end.
In it, Faraday films Pierre Chang, who's trying to warn people that DHARMA will be purged (and alludes that he's going to lose an arm in the process). He says it's imperative if the Purge can't be prevented, that DHARMA be reformed. Faraday seems to suggest it won't make any difference and at the end they're stopped from filming by... LaFleur! Very cool.
Well worth watching again if you missed it. Transcript here.

Friday Funnies
I don't watch Jimmy Kimmel regularly (though I should because he's a huge LOST fan), so you might have already seen this (my little brother pointed it out to me the other day). There's a whole series of them (you see all five of them in the sidebar if you go to YouTube), though I think this one is undoubtedly the funniest. Kudos to Evangeline Lilly too for poking fun at one of her sillier scenes this season.
Have a great weekend! :)

Lost Season 5 Promo!
Oh. My. God.
Couple things to notice here:
1) Several of the clips are of LOST events way in the past: especially the Beechcraft falling from the cliff and someone coming out of what looks like the Swan back entrance. Juliet also finds a very familiar looking Hatch buried in the ground. Are we seeing all round time travel here?
2) Jack's underground with a mining helmet
3) Hurley and Juliet have guns
4) Locke has a compass
5) Interestingly there's no sign of Desmond. Does he have to go back as well?
I can't believe we still have three more months of waiting! Argh!

Pierre Chang
If you haven't seen the trippy, new video from the San Diego Comic Con yet, Lostpedia has it. In we learn:
1) Marvin Candlemundwax's real name is Pierre Chang
2) He has son or daughter somewhere
3) Daniel (!) seems like he's traveled back in time about 30 years to tell him of the future
It's actually pretty neat - at one point Chang, also wistfully clutches his arm. Nice touch. Go watch it - time IS the essence! :)

He's Special, Dude
I've been so busy, I know been out of the loop for a while. Couple quick hits before I plunge back to work:
Jorge's Blog
Did you guys know Jorge Garcia started up a little personal blog on Blogger? It's pretty funny. Don't miss his Halloween costume.
Room 23

In other news, have you seen the newest Mobisode, Room 23? The ODI has the video and transcript. It's pretty neat, actually giving us new information on the Others and Walt. It's cleverly done too because they managed to make Walt the premise of the mobisode without actually having him on screen. This basically confirms/lends credence to several things:
1) Room 23 was the "room" Bea Klugh threatened Walt with back in "Three Minutes"
2) As I speculated before, Walt's powers seem to involve summoning animals to some degree, especially subconsciously under duress. And I can easily see him being under duress in Room 23. Question now is, was he subjected to the same treatment as Karl in there or did he have his own "special" test? Looks like Ben was telling the truth when he told Michael Walt was "more than they bargained for."
3) Jacob was the one who wanted Walt. So what did he want Walt for? To open the Magic Box? To help him somehow, like he asked Locke to help him?
Now I really want to see a full flashback on Walt's time with the Others. What a great episode to chew on. :)

Mobisode Madness!

Well I have to admit that, as depressing as the fact is that the writers strike will probably disrupt our uninterrupted new season of Lost, I was equally delighted to find that the Lost mobisodes began in my absence.
The first three are all up now at the ABC website and the fourth one is up over at Dark UFO. Lostpedia also has nice summaries of all four.
While none of the spots really tell us anything new, it's awful nice to see our favorite characters on the (very small) screen again. Memphish has already asked us which moment we'd like most to see so I'll direct you to that thread for my answer, but if the first four episodes are any indication it doesn't look like we're going to get any big reveals in these.
Of course, we did get some nice tidbits during the hiatus' "Lost Moments," so I could be wrong. But these just seem like extra character development bonuses. The only really new thing is giving Neil "Frogurt" a face: The guy from the Aaron Burr "Got Milk" commercial. And he was slimy enough that it makes me want to see more of him on the show itself.
Either way though, I'm finding the mobisodes to be delightful little snacks to help sustain us through the barren winter offseason. How about you?

Mmmm... Daddy's Soul Donut
I really try to avoid "Lost" spoilers now. Before the finale last year, I avoided any and all "Lost" articles because I really just wanted to enjoy whatever the twist was while seeing it on screen. Heck, I really didn't read much of anything online the week Harry Potter was released.
But sometimes, I just can't help to give into temptation, especially when it involves cast news. There was a "Lost" panel recently at the San Diego Comic-Con that did feature some information on some cast members, structure of the episodes, and a brand-spankin' new DHARMA orientation film that I've linked below (that's really, really odd and pretty funny too).
I won't say anything more here. If you want the full scoop, head over to IGN. If you want the full video of the "Lost" panel Q&A, head over to DarkUFO.
Also, big props to Memphish for alerting me to this wonderful taste of available "Lost" temptation.

Cloverfield
I haven't seen "Transformers" (yet), so I've had to patiently wait to see the odd, curious trailer from J.J. Abrams' new project that aired before the movie. Unfortunately, until now, Paramount had taken down any copies that were posted on the internet.
But it looks like they finally came to their senses. AICN says it's a monster movie codenamed "The Parasite," and they previously suggested it might be an H.P. Lovecraft film. Mmmmm... Cthulhu.
Whatcha think? Neat? Cheesy? You can see it here in Quicktime too.

John Locke Speed Painting
This has been around for a very long time, but it's still awesomely cool if you haven't seen it. Great mad skillz, and the perfect subject to boot!
