I agree with the other two, but Sayid weak? that's really delving deep into the psyche, because of course we know that Sayid has a very sensitive soft side deep down in his heart, but how would anyone involved with the island conflict know? Wow. Can't wait to find that answer out.

Yes, I'd agree that there has been a lot of collateral human damage in this island conflict! Some people are there for a reason, and some are just there for the ride and to be lost along the way, it seems. :-oCapcomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06841675195251354073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6448824486226424563.post-64290578419598833062009-03-09T11:43:00.000-04:002009-03-09T11:43:00.000-04:00Hello guys!! I miss the good old days when there were just a few of us - including Jay, talking about Lost. So I read a lot but only comment on this blog. :)
I miss your blog though, I still check it out to see what's up with you!
I agree with you about their past selves and present selves not being able to coexist, that's why I said I think the island will somehow put them back to their right time.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05939593555643148973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6448824486226424563.post-9755784050267143392009-03-05T20:42:00.000-05:002009-03-05T20:42:00.000-05:00Jay, you brilliant bastard!! And I mean that in the most endearing, flattering of ways.

After watching the “JUGHEAD” episode I thought to myself “So that’s why Locke is so important, so special? Because he simply tells Richard he is?? Nahhh, that’s tooo simple of an explanation…” Simply brilliant apparently

How is it possible that our time-skipping Losties would be able to co-exist with their future selves?? I’m not a physicist by any stretch of the imagination, but that seems like it would cause some sort of…something bad!! I have a million questions about what you wrote, do you mind answering a couple?!

CARLY: I wondered if you were one and the same!! When Sawyer mentioned “eyeliner guy” I spit up my coffee.someGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06402423805008884314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6448824486226424563.post-64209446295550197942009-03-05T13:24:00.000-05:002009-03-05T13:24:00.000-05:00Ed's memory is correct, but we've seen Horace a co...Ed's memory is correct, but we've seen Horace a couple times before:

1) He and his companion (Olivia, who may have been Horace's wife or girlfriend at the time) came upon Ben's parents when his mom went into labor and saved Ben's life.

2) Later Horace and Olivia brought Ben and his dad to the Island where Olivia became his teacher.

3) Horace died in the Purge and Ben closed his eyes when he found his body.

4) Locke's dream suggested Horace built Jacob's cabin and Locke found the cabin's blueprints on Horace's corpse (in the mass grave) inside his jumpsuit pocket.

Seems like a somewhat important guy, but we know when he checks out for sure.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07475817897723801757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6448824486226424563.post-10971391748851932732009-03-05T13:16:00.000-05:002009-03-05T13:16:00.000-05:00Can I get a confirmation? Is that where we know Horace from?Missiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12951110098375762357noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6448824486226424563.post-51525685916026882432009-03-05T12:57:00.000-05:002009-03-05T12:57:00.000-05:00Very cool. That statue rocked.

I am really glad that you have this blog Jay, it helps me put all things together in my little head.

I do think that Sawyer and the gang leave before the Purge and go back to their regular time. Somehow. :)

Missie I remember seeing that necklace but I can't remember where (Mr. Eko??) and I remember seeing that security guy in another episode and I can't remember where.

I wonder if Bernard and Rose are with the Hostiles?

I think you are right about Ben trying to manipulate things. Remember when we saw the episode with the Tailies and the Others attacked them on the beach, taking away some of them and killing other ones until Mr. Eko stopped them? So true or not, Ben told the Others that there were more "special" ones on this list and thus kidnapped some and killed off other plane people. Since Ben was the only one who appeared to speak to Jacob, he can pretty much control whatever is said to the Others.

Oh and I meant to say this 2 weeks ago and now that you are doing comic books next week, did you catch Hurley reading another spanish comic book at the airport? Not the same one as Walt's but still.....Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05939593555643148973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6448824486226424563.post-64851076720016270122009-03-05T12:28:00.000-05:002009-03-05T12:28:00.000-05:00There's going to be a Fark Lost thread posted to t...There's going to be a Fark Lost thread posted to the main page in an hour or so. Good discussion there, as always. Couple neat things that came out:

"Statue was cool. It definitely looked like Anubis, the half-man half-jackal god of the Egyptians. Considering the prevelance of the Ankh in this episode, and the fact that Anubis is shown with 4 toes on his hind foot, seems likely."

"I just had an interesting thought: could Richard Alpert be Egyptian? It would tie in to the statue, ankhs, and temple hieroglyphs, not to mention his love of eyeliner."

"Anubis, if I remember, was also God of the Underworld. And what do the hieroglyphs from the Swan Countdown Timer translate into? Underworld."

Cool stuff, huh? :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07475817897723801757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6448824486226424563.post-22461191780557441362009-03-05T12:21:00.000-05:002009-03-05T12:21:00.000-05:00Yeah, I've been wracking my brain over that baby. ...Yeah, I've been wracking my brain over that baby. I have one very far out theory- but 'tis too crazy to voice just yet.

I forgot about "eyeliner guy"- that was amusing.

I kind of have to believe that the people we got background stories on were more than collatoral damage, or it just pisses me off too much. But being necessary, but smaller, roles works as an explanation for me.Missiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12951110098375762357noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6448824486226424563.post-19970043935674930652009-03-05T11:36:00.000-05:002009-03-05T11:36:00.000-05:00I'm sorry, I know this is small but I couldn't bel...I'm sorry, I know this is small but I couldn't believe when Sawyer called Richard "eyeliner guy"!!!!!!!
That was great.
I wonder if the writers ever read the old tmz/lost diary blog when we all started calling him that in season 3? Ana what do you think?Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05939593555643148973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6448824486226424563.post-32330897858549897042009-03-05T09:46:00.000-05:002009-03-05T09:46:00.000-05:00Two thoughts on Boone, Eko and the others. First o...Two thoughts on Boone, Eko and the others. First off, you could say their destinies were to die on the Island, doing what they had to do, with each of them playing a role in getting the rest of the time travelers to that point.

Boone helped Locke find the Hatch (and the Beechcraft). Eko and Libby helped transport Sawyer across the Island, etc.

But you could also look at it as they're just collateral damage. Everyone else on Flight 815 that didn't go back in time were simply there for the ride. Suck to be them.

They specifically didn't say the baby's name, probably for a reason.
That baby would be 27 years old in 2004 when the plane crashed. Anyone we know that age at that time. The only person that immediately comes to mind is Aaron's deadbeat biological dad, Tom. There certainly wasn't a prominent Paul I remember from the show.

Love Sawliet too. Juliet didn't deserve Kate reappearing.

You would think Bernard and Rose also time jumped with everyone else and would also show up at some point in the past. But now I'm not sure about that, though I don't know why the rules would be different for them. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07475817897723801757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6448824486226424563.post-87209704965367982382009-03-05T08:26:00.000-05:002009-03-05T08:26:00.000-05:00I definitely liked the weeks episode alot more tha...I definitely liked the weeks episode alot more than last weeks. It also had the feel of the first couple of seasons- flashes to the past to bring you up to the current time. ("Current" being 1977).

Couple of things I'm wondering: If the survivors of 815 are so critical and entwined in the past, what where the destinies of people like Shannon, Boone and Eko?

And lastly, they seemed to go out of their way last night to not say the baby's name. So who is that little boy who was, as far as we know, the only successful conceived and birthed on the Island baby? Can you recall seeing anyone wearing the necklace in 2004-07? I was thinking Amy would want to name her son Paul- is there a Paul on the Island that I'm forgetting? Am I missing something really obvious?

I love Sawyer and Juliette together. Juliette could totally take Kate in a fight if she starts butting in. And I agree Jay, the best Sawyer ep since The Long Con. He also had the nicknames out in full force again. :)

One last thing- where the hell are Bernard and Rose?Missiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12951110098375762357noreply@blogger.com
